What is LOVE?

If you asked someone what exactly love is, they probably couldn't tell you a concrete definition. Love is not something that can be easily defined. Almost everybody agrees that love is great and that the world always needs more of it. The best type of love is unconditional love. The love a parent has for their child. The love a dog has for their owner. The love that best friends have no matter what happens. Unconditional love isn't a common practice though. It seems like Love is becoming a rare thing in our world. We have the ability to hate and treat others badly and many people choose to do so. But by loving we can fight the good fight. So what exactly is love. I can't tell you a solid definition but I can tell you how I view the concept of love. Love involves self-sacrifice or the willing to self-sacrifice. It's a scary thought to die. It might be an even scarier thought to die for someone else. Jesus Christ died for our sins. Although we can't directly witness him paying the price for us he did. That's love. That's the kind of love that would drive a parent to die for their child or a sibling to die for a sibling or a friend to die for a friend. In fact that's the kind of love that drives a stranger to die for another stranger. I believe that love also consists of very simple sacrifices. Doing something for someone out of the kindness of your heart and not needing recognition for it. Christianity is a practice of love. This love ranges from self-love to love for others to love for God. God is Love (1 John 5:17). Love is what motivates God in his actions (1 John 4:16). The book of John talks a lot about Love and has some very beautiful passages about what Love is. I think it's important we practice loving others, especially in an ever increasing diverse world. Love is something that can change the world and change lives.

Imitators

"Be imitators of me, as I also am of Christ" We are people committed to serve God the Creator of heaven and earth and to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not ashamed to be called Christians although we are not worthy to take that lofty name.

We see the Christian world divided into various denominations and thus misrepresenting Christ and the gospel he preached. So our commitment is to follow the doctrines of the word of God and to follow the apostolic example, as it is found in the pages of the New Testament.

We are just known as Christians,and that as a matter of policy. We believe all that orthodox Christians have always believed. And so we organise believers in any given locality without any divisive names or labels. We believe salvation is obtained by repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus.

The beauty of NT Christianity was that those who received Christ were baptised and were encouraged to meet together frequently for mutual edification and also to eat the Lord's supper weekly.
